Asociación Europea Equalis is delighted to announce that we will be hosting the Erasmus+ mobility “Sound Impact: Music as Catalyst for Green Change and Healthy Living” in Alicante, Spain, from 8–19 May 2026.
The mobility will bring together 11 Bulgarian musicians and music professionals for an informal, non-profit learning experience focused on sustainability, well-being, and European cooperation in the music sector. The project is funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme and coordinated by Soundport LTD.
At the heart of Sound Impact is a simple but powerful idea: music can do more than entertain. It can inspire change, open conversations, and encourage more responsible choices among artists, audiences, venues, and communities.
During the mobility, participants will explore how independent musicians can reduce their environmental footprint, design more sustainable events, promote responsible audience behaviour, and develop healthier professional habits in a sector often shaped by intense travel, late nights, financial pressure, and demanding working conditions.
The programme will include sessions on green music practices, sustainable event design, audience engagement, well-being in the music industry, European cooperation, and the development of music-related ideas that contribute to sustainability and social impact. Participants will also take part in peer learning, group reflection, creative workshops, and local cultural activities in Alicante.
For Asociación Europea Equalis, this mobility is especially meaningful. As a new organisation based in Alicante, we are passionate about climate action, culture, education, and the role of the creative industries in building a more responsible future. Hosting Sound Impact gives us the opportunity to support emerging and independent musicians while also contributing to a wider European conversation about sustainability in the cultural and creative sectors.
Alicante provides an inspiring setting for this exchange. As a Mediterranean city with strong cultural, educational, and international connections, it offers the ideal environment for learning, reflection, creativity, and cooperation. The mobility will also allow participants to experience the city, connect with local perspectives, and reflect on how place, community, and sustainability intersect in artistic practice.
Through this project, we hope participants will return home not only with new knowledge, but also with practical tools, fresh motivation, and a stronger sense of responsibility as artists and cultural professionals. The aim is not to expect small independent musicians to solve the climate crisis alone, but to empower them to make realistic, visible, and meaningful changes within their own careers, events, and audiences.
We look forward to welcoming the participants to Alicante and to creating a learning space where music, sustainability, well-being, and European cooperation come together.
Sound Impact reminds us that every artist has influence — and every event, no matter its size, can become a step toward positive change.
