Sound Impact Mobility Successfully Completed in Alicante

·

The Sound Impact: Music as Catalyst for Green Change and Healthy Living Erasmus+ mobility has been successfully completed in Alicante, bringing together Bulgarian musicians and music professionals for an intensive learning experience focused on sustainability, well-being and climate-conscious creative practice.

Throughout the programme, participants explored sustainability in the music industry, green music events, EU green priorities, carbon footprint awareness, greenwashing, zero waste, net zero and carbon-neutral concepts, as well as well-being topics such as stress, burnout, performance anxiety, imposter syndrome, healthy habits, boundaries and community care.

The final evaluation shows strong learning progress. At the beginning of the mobility, participants’ average understanding of sustainability in the music industry was 2.9 out of 5. By the end of the programme, all post-assessment respondents rated their understanding as 5 out of 5 — “very good”, and also rated the overall learning experience as 5 out of 5 — “excellent.”

Participants also developed a stronger understanding of key concepts such as carbon footprint, net zero, carbon-neutral, zero waste, circular economy and greenwashing, and became more aware of the hidden environmental impact of music production, digital streaming, studio energy use, merchandise, promotion and professional travel.

The mobility also included practical creative work. Participants developed three music-related ideas: an interactive educational song for children, a children’s concept with three mascots dedicated to cleaning the planet, and an app idea for calculating carbon emissions. Many participants expressed motivation to continue developing these ideas beyond the mobility.

Following the successful completion of the programme, participants received certificates recognising their learning achievements, and the project team prepared Europass Mobility certificates to support formal recognition of the skills and competences developed in Alicante.
